How it works
Capture the shape
A 3D scan of the residual foot — from a phone or a clinic scanner — captures the exact geometry a fit depends on.
Generate the fit
Parametric software builds a personalized device model around the scan, with adjustments a fitter or wearer can tune.
Print it locally
The model prints on accessible 3D printers in flexible, durable materials — close to the person who needs it.
Why we're building this
Millions of people worldwide live with partial foot amputation, and most have no access to a well-fitted device. Traditional custom fabrication is skilled, slow, and expensive — where it exists at all.
FootMaker Labs is a British Columbia Benefit Company. Our goal is simple to say and hard to do: make custom-fit devices available at little or no cost where people can least afford them, funded by paid tools and services for clinics elsewhere.
